  • We examine all returns on a case-by-case basis in order to determine who is responsible for paying all costs (shipping and customs) required to deliver the artwork back to the artist.

Generally, if we determine that the artwork was accurately described on our site (in terms of size, materials used, weight, etc.) and the purchasor is returning it as a result of buyers remorse, then the purchasor is held responsible for return costs.

If we conclude that the artist misrepresented the work (either in the photograph or in the description), failed to disclose important information about the work, or if the artwork was damaged as a result of poor packaging, the purchasor will not be responsible for shipping costs.

  • Yes, you can. Note that all buyers have the right to cancel their order any time before shipment, and are able to return art 7 days after the delivery date if unsatisfied with the work. For more information regarding our return policy please read Return Policy & Guidelines.

  • In some cases buyers will pay taxes and customs fees on artwork they purchase, depending on their country of residence as well as the country the artwork is shipping from. See below for more information.

    U.S. Sales Tax

If your artwork is shipping to or within the United States a state sales tax may be added to your total. This is based on your location and local state tax regulations. A breakdown of all costs, including any applicable taxes, will be provided on your Sale Invoice prior to submitting your payment information.

    Value Added Tax (VAT)

If your artwork is shipping to a location outside of the US, VAT (value added tax) may be included in your Sale Invoice. This will be labeled as a ‘customs’ fee and will be visible on your Sale Invoice prior to submitting your payment information.

    Customs Charges

If your artwork is shipping internationally, you may also be responsible for paying any applicable international customs fees. These are determined based on the artists location and the country the artwork is being shipped to. They will be labeled as a ‘customs’ fee and will be visible on your Sale Invoice prior to submitting your payment information. For further information about these fees you may check with your country's customs office.

  • What to expect after purchasing

  • It is always helpful to review all artwork descriptions listed for any details about a specific artwork and to determine if there will be any special packing method offered.

As a general rule, original artworks are sold off-their frame and shipped rolled. Prints are usually shipped rolled.

Artworks will have to be stretched and mounted on a frame before hanging.

IMPORTANT: Once an artwork has been streched and/or mounted, returns will NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED.

  • See below for standard delivery times according to artwork type, as well as some common reasons for delivery delays.

    Unframed Original Artwork and Prints

Original unframed artworks and prints usually arrive within eleven (11) to fourteen (14) business days from time of order, depending on the origin and destination of the artwork as well as the time it takes to clear customs if the work is shipped internationally.

From time of shipping, the artwork will usually arrive at the buyer’s destination between seven (7) to ten (10) business days, barring any delays due to customs clearance.

    Common Reasons for Delivery Delays

If you live in an area experiencing severe weather, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen major events, your package may be delayed. Please add an additional 2 - 3 business days to the estimated delivery date of your order.

In some countries, the customs clearing process may take as long as 30 days. Please check your government's international shipping policies for more detailed information.

  • Commission Requests

  • ARTISTS 4 INTERIORS will collect 50% of the artwork price in advance as a non-refundable deposit before the artist starts work on the new piece. This deposit will include shipping, but please note that any applicable taxes will be calculated and added to the final invoice.

If appropriate to the kind of work the artist makes, we would ask for sketches for you to approve before the artist starts making the new work. We work very closely with the artist throughout the process, including asking for work-in-progress photos, so that we can ensure the work is on track with what has been agreed at the outset.

Once the artist has finished and you are satisfied with the final image, the remaining 50% (plus any customs/duties) will be paid, and we will ship the artwork to you.
