Adrienne Gabriel

ADRIENNE GABRIEL is a contemporary abstract artist who has lived, worked, exhibited and sold in Los Angeles, Sydney, South Africa and Europe.

Growing up in a family of prolific artists, filmmakers, interior designers and production designers, exposed her to all aspects of creative expression and inspired her to create both large scale and more intimate works

Her multi-layered mixed medium works are unique and invite the viewer to explore deeper into less visually apparent worlds.

Her Australian body of work predominantly focused on copper and acid paintings.  She became fascinated with creating brushstrokes unseen until some time later when the Verdigris develops and becomes visible.

"This approach requires a lot of trust that the flow and rhythm of my brushstrokes develop into what I feel they will look like. Unpredictability and chance are as much a part of this moment as the anticipated artistic approach. It's like staring at something the eye is not trained to see, until it is."

Chantelle Hopewell

CHANTELLE HOPEWELL is a multidisciplinary artist and designer living in Hout Bay, Cape Town. She creates art to express and communicate her thoughts and feelings that emerge from connecting with the abundance of nature that surrounds her.

She invites the viewer to explore and discover the meaning and significance of her work, and hopes that in doing so they will be inspired to look at the world differently.

Her most recent work is ink based. In her process she uses fast-drying, highly pigmented, alcohol- based inks which have flexible, free flowing and impressionistic qualities. This movement and the unpredictability of the medium enhances her expression of the subject matter.

Her work is showcased both commercially and privately. Large scale commissions can be seen in hotels in South Africa and Zanzibar, as well as in private collections around the world.

Dinah Priestly (nee Dyas)

DINAH PRIESTLY is a classically trained artist, studying largely in the States. Her work is above all about the love of colour and finding the joy and pleasure in the everyday things she sees about her. She often uses subjects such a place she knows well or a beloved artefact, like an old plate of her grandmothers, for focus; exploding the size and exaggerating the colours, working large canvasses with vigour, a sense of humour and passion.

She has worked, exhibited and sold consistently in England, accepting commissions and selling to large interiors and even a couple of stately homes.

Recently moved to Spain, she is now teaching alongside her work and is utterly taken over by the awe inspiring nature around her, using this as a focus for her recent work.

She works predominantly in traditional oils preferring the rich buttery thickness of the paints that give the brushstrokes a real moving vitality, extraordinary texture and the ability to work and rework colour and form.

She uses brush, scrappers, spatulas, fingers and anything else she can find, while listening to loud music barefoot.
